A Program of work in Wales

BEN's work in Wales ranges from practical and specific activity on the ground, to input at policy and strategy level. Countryside Council for Wales is a major supporter.

BEN Re Cycle Bike Project. According to gumtree.com the British throw away over 1.2 million bicycles every year. A Swansea project is helping to reduce this wastage by re-cycling the waste bikes. The Re Cycle scheme in Swansea takes in donations of unwanted bikes which are refurbished, repaired and supplied cheaply to low waged people, asylum seekers and refugees. Development work in South Wales. Working with the ethnic communities across South Wales to support access to the natural environment, in particular the Muslim community in Newport and other hard-to-reach groups.

North Wales Access Project. Working across North Wales to enable full ethnic participation in the range of environmental activities and opportunities.

South Wales Access Project. Working across South Wales to enable full ethnic participation in the range of environmental activities and opportunities.

Wales Good Practice Project. Capturing and promoting good practice to enable effective ethnic environmental engagement.
